The Conference Steering Committee has taken the initiative to contact various individuals to ask them to prepare reports on subjects considered to have primary importance for the Armenia-Diaspora relationship. This paper is intended as background material and food for thought to provide some general parameters to the issues and discussions held during the conference. The Steering Committee does not necessarily subscribe to or endorse the perspectives presented in this report. Nor has the Committee independently verified any of the data or material discussed in this paper. This paper represents the work and opinions of its respective prepares and as such, the Steering Committee welcomes the diversity of opinions expressed. While the Steering Committee has provided some preliminary conceptual guidance in the formulation of this report, the author (s) were given wide latitude in determining the approach, the discussion and conclusions.
