This section of www.ArmeniaDiaspora.com is different from
the rest of the site. This is the place where the official
follow-up of the ArmeniaDiaspora
Conference will take place.
There are broad and varied ways to take part in the follow-up
to the Second
Armenia Diaspora Conference. Each individual can determine
his or her own level of involvement. Indeed, by using the
full potential of the Internet to communicate, hold e-forums,
e-conferences, and on-line chats
and discussions, we will be able to provide formal and informal
networks by which Conference decisions can be implemented.
Five standing commissions
are being formed for each of the main sectors of Armenia Diaspora
involvement: Armenia-Diaspora relations and structural issues;
Political relations and advocacy; Education, Culture, Science;
Economic & Social Development; Information & Media.
Each of the dozen international organizations (which were
represented during the first plenary session) have nominated
one candidate to participate in each of these commissions.
In addition, we have invited several of those who spoke at
some of the conference panels in their professional capacities
to also participate. The make-up of these commissions is fluid.
Much of the discussion and decision-making process will be
made public through this site to those who sign up and wish
to follow, or contribute.
Each of the seven projects which
were adopted will also be executed by an implementation unit
that will work jointly with these commissions. These units
will be comprised of professionals from Armenia and Diaspora
who are able to provide real hands-on involvement in the current
phase of the project. As the project evolves, the make-up
of the PIU will also evolve.
You are welcome to join in or depart at any point, contribute
what time and skills you wish to contribute to either the
commissions or the projects.
We look forward to a long and productive working relationship
with you. |
