October, 2000 In Yerevan, the still-under-construction St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral saw its first wedding, with just a makeshift table serving as altar. Suzy Poghosian married Haik Karapetian. Following the couple's wishes, wedding gifts (which totaled $3,600) were donated to the church construction fund.
