9:00-11:30 – HOLY MASS - A Mass dedicated to the victims of the first Genocide of the 20th Century will be held at the St. James Armenian Cathedral in the Armenian Convent under the patronage of His Beatitude Torkom Arch. Manoogian, Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem and with the participation of foreign and religious dignitaries and members of the Armenian communities of Jerusalem, Haifa and Jaffa.

11:30-15:00 - MARCH - A march from the Armenian Convent to the St. Savior Cemetery with the participation of the Armenian Patriarch, foreign dignitaries, the scout bands of Homenetmen and Hoyetchmen followed by the community members. At the Cemetery flowers will be laid on the Arara Monument where the bodies of Armenian soldiers are laid who fought the Turks in the Holy Land with the British Army. After prayers on the monument a speech will be given by a representative of Homenetmen Jerusalem, after which a march is expected from the cemetery to the Armenian Convent passing by the Walls of Jerusalem’s Old City and chanting Armenian patriotic and national songs. At the Convent coffee will be served for the souls of the victims.

Armenian-Americans of Texas from Dallas, Houston, College Station, San Antonio, El Paso and Austin will gather on April 23 at the steps of the State Capitol in Austin, to bring their story to light in speeches, prayers, music and poetry, pay homage to their dead, and declare their fellowship with genocide survivors of all ethnicities and races. The event is part of a unified international effort on this weekend led by the descendants of Armenians who were scattered across the world.
