24 April Committee for the recognition and commemoration
of the Armenian Genocide of 1915
Within the framework of the approaching EU summit, in which the
potential commencement of negotiations for Turkey’s EU membership
will be determined under Dutch presidency, the April 24 committee
has organised a series of activities, with the aim to influence
the decision-making process regarding the possible EU membership
of Turkey by informing Dutch authorities and public of the Armenian
genocide.
The first action will be a demonstration on 21 April 2004 in The
Hague, where a petition will be submitted to the Chairman of the
Parliament, the Dutch Prime Minister and the Turkish embassy. On
24 April 2004, a commemoration ceremony will take place at the Armenian
memorial in Assen.
The 24 April committee calls on everybody to participate in these
