Yerevan, October 20, ArmenPress: One of the most popular Yerevan theaters has spent around $12,500 to open its new season with Shakespeare's Macbeth. The Drama Theater will open the season on October 23.

The play involves 28 actors. The theater's art director Armen Khandikian told a news conference today work on the play took 75 days. He said $1,200 came from the culture ministry. Apart from Macbeth the theater performs also five other plays by Shakespeare. Khandikian said they choose Shakespeare since "the world in the 21st century has not become a safer place to live, there is more dishonesty and more blood in it now".
