Lebanon’s Armenian community sends 5000 books to National Library

6a00d83451b44369e200e54f87e9708834-800wiAysor  The Embassy of Armenia in Lebanon today hosted a meeting with members of the Armenian structures who took an active part in the book gathering action organized by the National Library of Armenia, sending about 5000 books to Armenia.

Ambassador of Armenia to Lebanon Ashot Kocharyan highly assessed Lebanese Armenian community’s role in expansion of Armenia-Diaspora cooperation, MFA press office reported. He said that the city of Yerevan was named as the World Book Capital 2012 at the conclusion of the meeting of the selection committee held at UNESCO and expressed the hope that the Armenians of Lebanon will take an active part in the events scheduled between April 23, 2012 and April 22, 2013.

The Ambassador thanked all for responding to their appeal and awarded them Armenian Ministry of Culture Certificates of Appreciation.
