Larisa Alaverdyan: No UN decision should be underestimated

ArmRadio -- Tomorrow the UN General Assembly will consider at its plenary session the resolution presented by Azerbaijan.
According to Republican MP Rafik Petrosyan, Azerbaijan’s recurrent attempt of taking the Karabakh issue to the UN General Assembly is ineffective and simply hilarious. The Deputy is convinced that this initiative will yield no results.
”The superpowers are interested in the settlement of the conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group,” he said.
“It’s very important how we view the UN and the decisions of its institutes,” said Larisa Alaverdyan, member of the Heritage faction.
According to her, no decision of a renowned structure like the UN should be underestimated. “The fact that it’s not legally binding does not yet mean that it will not have political implications,” Larisa Alaverdyan said.
