ArmenPress For each citizen the environment must be attractive and comfortable, Mayor of Yerevan Karen Karapetyan said today at a consultation, held in Yerevan Municipality. He added that elementary standards of living must be ensured in the capital. The mayor says front doors of dwellings must be clean, elevators must operate, garbage removal must be well-organized and bus stops must have no issue.

As to the issue of providing homes to dwellers of houses, which are under the threat of collapse, the mayor said that the apartment fund program, which intends beneficial solutions within a short period, is currently under discussion. 67 dwellings are involved in the 2011 program of central district dwellings’ exterior improvement and through reconstruction. As to the planting of greenery in the capital, Karen Karapetyan said the works must be coordinated and have a unique design, which is characteristic of Yerevan.
