Controversy Over Kardashian Cover of Turkish Edition of Cosmo
NBCLosAngeles When you're juggling a couple of reality shows and endless red carpet demands, let's face it...
"It's hard to keep up with the Kardashians," states Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian's Mother.
It's even harder for the Kardashian's to keep up with each other.
"I know nothing about the Cosmo cover. I don't know," according to Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian's Mother.
It turns out the, arguably, world's most famous Armenian-American ever is on the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine in Turkey, and she says she didn't know it.
"I shot an international cover shoot for the magazine, and it goes out to different countries, and I don't really have any control over that," according to Kim Kardashian, reality TV star. "It's just a little bit of an uncomfortable situation."
Some fellow Armenians fell a little more strongly, speaking out Monday night at the National Armenian Committee of America in Glendale.
They are preparing posters for April 24th, the annual day Armenians mark what they call a genocide by the Turks.
"I would hope that it's not a cynical ploy on the part of the editors of the Turkish edition, because they could have chosen to use her at any month, but they chose April," states Rostom Sarkissian of the Armenian National Committee. "For them to put a Armenian-American genocide descendant on the cover is somewhat disrespectful on the part of Cosmo magazine, and somewhat insensitive on their part.
Cosmopolitan Magazine says it's thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph Kim for editions worldwide.
Kardashian stands by her heritage, and her history.
"Anytime we can bring awareness to an issue that we strongly belive in, we gladly do. If anything comes from this I just really hope that the issue is recognized something good can come of raising awareness," states Kim Kardashian, reality TV star.
