The apricot yield in Armenia will make 25-30% this year, an Armenian agrarian has said.

aoricotTertAm At a news conference on Monday, Hrach Berberyan, the president of the Armenian Agrarian Peasants Union, NGO expressed concerns over the decrease in fruit yield in Armenia. He said the country has failed to take enough measures to protect plants from hail precipitations and rodents.

"Upon launching the program we were planning to use acetylide shells, but unfortunately, butane is being used instead. And the shells with substitutes have now vanished," he said.

 

The expert further addressed irrigation problems recommending, villagers to reject the services of brokering organizations.

He said the problems in rural economies stem from government bodies failure to work properly.

"Presidential decrees remain unfulfilled, limited only to televised announcements. It's time a special commission under the president followed the implementation of orders," he noted.
