Silicon Valley legend Steve Jobs’ adoptive mother is Armenian

steve_jobsPanorama.Am  --  A biography of Silicon Valley legend, head of the Apple Company Steve Jobs will be released in November, “Today’s Zaman” informs.

According to the source the biography reveals that the woman who adopted Steve Jobs was Armenian. The family of Steve’s mother has immigrated to US from Turkey in 1915 when Ottoman Turkey was exercising genocide against Armenians.

Clara Jobs or Clara Hagopian is the daughter of an Armenian family who immigrated to the US from Turkey's Malatya province following the 1915 genocide. The book reportedly says Clara's father Louis Hagopian was born in Malatya in 1894 and her mother Victoria Artinian was born in İzmir in 1894.

“Steve Jobs: A Biography by Walter Isaacson” book is based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors and colleagues.

what utter garbage! I love your spin on this. Do you realize what you just said? You just discounted the accomplishment of a person who has Muslim heritage because you are not really able to see it any other way. Just curious, where were you raised that you have such a hateful, narrow and bigoted view of humanity? I am guessing you have been protected all your life by your tribe who is afraid if you get out in the real world, you might actually learn to think for yourself and do so critically. I have to tell you that your comment is one of an extremely narrow mind--and anyone with anything that passes for an education would laugh at you. Venture out into the world and learn that all races and religions are important.

Would you be embracing this guy and making the same remarks if he had an Armenian Christian mother if he had committed a huge crime? I doubt it. I didn't hear a lot of gloating from the Armenian community when an Armenian gang was convicted of big-time Medicare fraud. But I guess their parents must not have been Armenian Christians... LOL. Open your mind and learn to think for yourself, before it's too late.

WOW! Another muslim (or muslim apologist) afraid to see the truth. And in your case, with a huge dose of insecurity thrown in. Shame on you for bringing your filthy political ideas into this forum of praise for a great man and a great culture.

Serge is correct - Steve Jobs' Christian upbringing and value system no doubt had a lot to do with his success. It's too bad modern muslims cant seem to come up with any significant positive contributions to society.

By the way, MORON, Steve Jobs had no "muslim heritage." His parents did not want him, and gave him up for adoption. Just because his biological father was Arab (Syrian) does not mean that Mr Jobs was muslim!

A "muslim" is an adherent to Islam, a political ideology masquerading as a religion. It is NOT an heritage.

His father and mother gave him love and the tools to be successful. His biological father was not the one responsible for his upbringing.
I myself came from a very humble family, yet am very successful. It is the love and support of the parents that make you who you are. It is the ability to be guided by supportive parents and to embrace you even though your path might be a little different than the "norm".

How can you call yourself a "critical thinker" when your nerf brain only processes and turns a blind eye to greatness? You're not a thinker if all you spout is verbal feces-- that's the point my illiterate friend that it was an Armenian GANG who did that--- what's that got to do with the 1000000000 other innovative contributions of Armenians world wide? Did you also hear about the same fraud news that in Miami FL --- the Cuban "real estate agents" committed the same fraud except TOPPED the "Armenian gang?" Do you bother to read anything besides gossip columns?

Why don't you mention that fact that during the same week that "gang" you speak of was topped by 2 real estate Latino fraudsters in Miami, FL.

Do you see any of their ppl. highlighting ONLY their ppl's mishaps? Think about it, that's even worse --- at least the gangs we know are gangs, what's the realtors' excuses? And more importantly, what's your excuse now as a FAILED critical thinker?

How can ppl call themselves critical thinkers when thinking is not even their strong area?

Steve Jobs' upbringing FULLY IMPACTED his nature and moral character and yes his solid work ethic --- these are traditional key Armenian traits and values that Armenian emphasize, time and time again.

You pretend to side-step those and try to magnify the "bad" because it is obvious you are as smart as a mouse pad.

If you bother to read--- Armenians hold the universal record FIRSTS in 7 different key areas:

1) First winery
2) First Christian nation
3) First leather shoes
4) First skirt
5) First metallury
6) First largest aerial tramway (still in existence today)
7) First world's known oldest observatory (Kara Hundj -- Armenian stonehenge that predates the pyramids and the one in England).

See? These are key Armenian contributions that have really revolutionized and enriched the world.

You clearly haven't read nor do you learn -- learn to make sense when you post these slanderous gossip columns of yours.

As a proud Armenian-American, I cannot deny the sense of pride and excitement I felt when I found out Jobs' adoptive mother was Armenian. What I'm most proud about is that this woman (Clara Hagopian) was the daughter of Genocide survivors, and that through the grace of God, with strength and humanity, embraced the selfless roll of motherhood for an orphaned child. It is this that I am most proud of.

I don't think anyone has the right to lay claim to the genius of Jobs. He is epitome of a self-made man.

This shouldn't be an occasion to bicker about issues as dubious as the ones I've read above. Jobs' success is a source of pride for us all; it is a victory for humanity. He touched the lives of everyone across ethnic and religious lines. The story of Clara Hagopian is an occasion to celebrate the triumph of life and love.

I WOULD WISH TO LEARN-later on...when his will is disclosed, his contribution to any Armenian Entity,as a gesture of gratitude to his Armenian mother(for she was such to him, being an orphan notwithstanding ).This will show if his upbringing ,(on which many have opined...) had any influence on him w/rgd to BENEVOLENCE Charity to human kind.No , I´m not selfish, or racist, Not all to Armenians but at least a part.Like Mr. Caluste Gulbenkian did.many hard core Armenians now and then opine that he should have left all to Armenians(his immense wealth, plus, IF SOME DO NOT KNOW CONTINUOUS INCOME ON HIS OIL ASSOCIATED EARNINGS::::
NOW THAT IS THE QUESTION.Let us wait and see...
For Steve Jobs knew he was to expire.....

Genius Steve Jobs (Hagobian) and
His Armenian Principles

Steve was taught Armenian
Learned to read and write it at a young age
Steve knew in detail about the Armenian genocide…
What it meant…!
His parents spoke about it every day …
These were the stories of his childhood…
Not beautiful Cinderella or the story of three bears

God is Great...Enabling every being
Carrying I’s in their pockets,
To know about Armenians
Who were genocided …orphaned,  slayed…
Expelled from their ancient land
Artful, dedicated, a cultured race …
Creators of Kingdoms…Fortre sses…Alphabets

Ancestors of newly-fashioned Turkey…
In Western Armenia…Cilicia
Around the most beautiful Mount Ararat
Since Noah’s days
Before all Prophets
Before Buddha
Before Moses…
Before Jesus Christ…
Before Mohammad…
Before all the saints

Now no real Armenian is there anymore
All scimitared… Turkified
Their Culture…
Their Religion
Their Names…
All forgotten...vanished!

Read on the Internet
And pray that some still exist
After 1.5 million stabbed in their chests...

And by luck...Steve’s real parents
Who nourished him with kisses and cakes
In spite of having little wealth---
Were Armenians who escaped
The Hamidian Genocide of 1894…

He was lucky to be brought up
By their Soulful hearts and hands…
Teaching him honest Armenian principles
Which were implanted and became part of his genes...

As documented by his friends,
Steve did not care for cents, as much as he cared
to proceed daily with inventions
Making people happy to sing with him
With their iPhones... iPads…iPods….
To play with... and feel as if they had invented them all.

Steve worked selflessly hard
Yet was fired from his self-styled Apple
In spite of being born in America---
In the most civilized...rich... ‘wide-wild’ green land...!

Parev Dr. Portoian, Your insights into the Jobs/Hagopian issue are wonderfull to read. I shall pass them on to many other people, especially "odars". Congratulations on your words and thoughts. My parents were from Harpoot and Everek. The lesson on being "jarbeek" was given to me early on. Perhaps to Jobs as well. Please enjoy a giggle on the Google, Yahoo and Wikipedia when you look me up and see what I did with that famous "Hai" trait. Thank you again. I remain, recyclingly yours, Armen Napoleon Stepanian

Steve's biological father was a Syrian Muslim.
Steve's biological mother was a German/Swiss Catholic.

Steve's adoptive father was German.
Steve's biological mother was Armenian.

Steve was a pot-smoking, hippy, liberal, Buddhist!
Steve is an American and a damn fine one.

Correct your information...
There are many SyrianWho have Armenian mothers from Armenian Genocide...Syrian's are not pure
Religion is not ethnicity
Amercanism is not genes
If you are American
Ask your parents from were they have arrived...
His DNA will tell who is he...
Syrian have many mixed genes...

We all have mixed genes
No-one is pure
Religion is not ethnicity ...
But Race might be...

We have black genes
and many kind of DNA’s
Many types of Hidden Syndromes

What defines us...
We must ask our selves...
"Are we real human or scavengers
Vanishing innocents
By praising our Faiths...!"

I don't like to use step parents ...I call this American slang...
His parents wanted a child so it can't be step parents...
Step means when someone forced on you...
Of course he was affected by Armenian Principles...and Improved his writing and using his hands...As Armenian like clear letters and clear hand work...His biological parents were more art lovers and not science...His adopted parents used their hand ...as every Armenian do...

To ¨Leave Steve alone¨.In deed, may his soul rest in peace. No one here is trying to bother him,it was disclosed on many Armenian site(copied fromn others) I can refer to that later, about his adoptive mother having taught him Armenian and our ¨HELL-ucaust¨ and why not?.if this bothers you , then forget it.Git hold of William Saroyan´s book edited by Brian Darwent. You will come across more Armenian names of his close and far relatives and also many many chara cters in Fresno,CA. He(Saroyan) especially makes it known whether others will like it or not that his ancestory is armenian and more than a million now, In U.S.
So why do you get fired up if I have asked a simple question and than even without asking if ¨he spoke Armenian¨. .Morevover, Finances, these days are of utmost importance. In my other post ,on top of this short one I have won dered if and when ¨Will ¨ is disclosed...will there be some portion for his Adoped mother´s ancestors´ countrymen or an Armenian PRESTIGIOUS INSTITUTION SUCH AS THE ARMENIAN GENERAL BENEVOLENT UNIPON!!!!
After all, like Saroyan once wrote in ¨Time¨ ,,,we are all Armenians...Time for us to stand up too.He gave the example and many others too.

Steve jobs affected by having Armenian Parents affected by their humanity and culture...

Steve Jobs ...how many genes and culture he had...He did his way...German...Swiss...Syrian (You call them Arabs but Syrian have many genes through centuries)
Armenian upbringing which they have very high principles...not to lie ...not to hurt anybody ...hardworking and fair to every one even to enemies ...because of that they were genocided and driven from their own land (Western Armenia) which existed for centuries before Christ...A famous singer and lyric writer of 18th century Jevani sung..."Armenians have no bread to eat but were able to build 5 churches in a small village by their faith"...Those churches were vanished by Ottomans during 1915-till today...
Those were parents of Steve Jobs who brought him up ...without being wealthy... He was trained to use his hands As his father Louis Hagobian was laser mechanist and write clear alphabets in every languages he learned Armenian...English
from his mother Clare, with no mistakes; not hoping to be wealthy but stimulating invention...to satisfy his ego...and help humanity...
Those are the real Armenian Principles...which every Armenian brought up at home...

From Wikipedia
Please don't use Step Father...This is very bad ...correct your English....

Paul Jobs, a machinist for a company that made lasers, taught his son rudimentary electronics and how to work with his hands.[1] His adoptive mother was an accountant.[17] Asked in a 1995 interview what he wanted to pass on to his children, Jobs replied, "Just to try to be as good a father to them as my father was to me. I think about that every day of my life." When asked about his "adoptive parents," Jobs replied emphatically that Paul and Clara Jobs "were my parents."[17]

By reading all of the above comments, one could come to the conclusion that every human being regardless of religion, race , backgroung or upbringing have the natural instinct and urge to accosiate a greatness or accomplishment to themselves or to their ownership. So fellows, why don't we follow our natural instincts and do everything good and right and contribute to society so that the feeling of pride and self satisfaction shine on each and every one of us human beings like champion athletes experience.
Love.

Dear Abraham Keorhagian,
Why that is exactly what I have written about in a couple of posts, above. I stop short by asking ¨did he speak any other language, beside s(naturally) English? hope you do not get fired up by that. This is how I was taught to be tactfull.
Second, Armenians-like any others-should be on the alert, to learn if he left (if did Will anything at all) some portion NOT ALL, to the Armenians in gratitude to his adopted parents, especia lly mother...that is not asking too much is it? Armenians have to learn that mONEY TALKS.Enough being self deceptive...the world goes around thaks to MONEY. And really Armenians should (if hje willed) get their portion.O.K.

Lets not forget that Jobs was a obsessive and cruel leader who ruled (and still does through his systems) through fear and intimidation. Building a technology empire that many worship did not make him any less of an ass hole.
