Dinner Dollars: Moscow event takes All Armenian Fund pledges past $30 million
ArmeniaNow -- The annual charity dinner attended by some 70 businessmen of Armenian descent and a number of diplomats concluded last night in the Russian capital with $18.6 million raised as donation to All Armenian Fund, reports Asbarez.com. The funds will be combined with last month’s telethon pledges bringing this year’s Fund total to more than $30 million.
During the charity dinner at Moscow’s Renaissance Monarch Hotel, Argentine-Armenian businessman Eduardo Eurnekian pledged $11 million, designated for Karabakh in the coming year. The second biggest pledge of $3 million was made by Sergey Sarkisov. Another million dollars was promised by Samvel Karapetyan, and $500,000 each by Robert Hovhannisian and Levon Hayrapetyan.
Last month, the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund announced that $12,286,478 was pledged during the annual All Armenia Fund Thanksgiving Day telethon. Proceeds of the Telethon will benefit the water supply system and rural development projects in Armenia and Karabakh.
