/ARMENPRESS/ Russia welcomes the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and is intending to hence too promote it, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said today in response to the questions of the reporters at the European and Asian Media conference.

"In general we have positive attitude toward the notable warming up of the relations between Armenia and Turkey, toward attempts to overcome the issues which were in 20th century displaying mutual soberness and readiness to mutual concession," the Russian president said.

At the same time Medvedev pointed out that the important thing is the understanding of other states that the restoration of relations is not directed against anyone.

"In case this message is formed and sent in a right way no tension will be created in the counties which attentively follow the processes," the Russian president added.
