The focus is on the economic empowerment of women. The ARS/Armenia provides the necessary training and equipment for women to become more self-reliant while increasing local productivity. The donation of sewing and embroidery machines enables the manufacturing of clothes and handicrafts. Ovens and flour milling equipment facilitate food production. In addition, the ARS/Armenia funded the establishment of Homanoush, a store which sells jams prepared by Armenian women, and Agricultural Revolving Monetary Fund, which gives micro-loans to promote small-scale, privately-owned farms.
