School of Social Work
The project was begun in 1991 as a informal relationship between the University of Connecticut School of Social Work (Garbis Moushigian and Dr. Nancy Humphreys) and Yerevan State University (Dr. Ludmila Haroutunian) and has developed into a BA degree program with its first four year graduates in June of 2000. A graduate level program began the same year. An extensive library has been furnished (several thousand books and journals) and a well developed field education program in place. Experienced social workers in all modalities who would be able to donate time as consultants and lecturers would enhance the program. Financial contributions can be made to the University of Connecticut School of Social Work Armenia Project at 1798 Asylum Avenue, West Hartford, Connecticut 06117. The relationship between the two universities is now formal and an endowment fund has been created at UConn.
