Chevening
Scholarship
The Chevening Scholarship Programme is a prestigious awards scheme
that funds international postgraduate students who want to study in
the UK. Funded by the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and administered
by the British Council. Chevening Scholarships cover the costs of study
(including living expenses and international flights) in the UK from
3 to 12 months. They are awarded on a competitive basis for advanced
study in the fields of:

International Relations and Diplomatic Studies

The
John Smith Fellowship Programme
The John Smith Fellowship Programme is a partnership between the John
Smith Memorial Trust, the British Council and the Department for Constitutional
Affairs. The main objects of the programme are to:
Bring together young civil society and political leaders to exchange
views and receive training and information on democratic practices and
the promotion of good government.
Deepen awareness of the needs of poor and disadvantaged groups within
a society, and encourage democratic access and accountability.
Promote a dialogue between Fellows within and outside their home countries,
and create and maintain links with young leaders and those working in
similar fields in the UK.
You can apply if you are aged between 25 and 35, working in politics,
local administration or civil society, with a track record of concern
for tackling poverty and promoting social justice. Good written and
spoken English is essential.
Distance
Learning Scholarship
They cover the costs of your registration and one main course of study
at your selected university for the first year of study. They are awarded
on a competitive basis for advanced study at both undergraduate and
postgraduate levels in any subject.
Can I apply?
To apply you must be a citizen of Armenia or have lived in Armenia for
the last three years.How do I apply?
You should apply to UK higher education institutions of your choice
directly. We can help you to choose a UK institution if you want. We
can only consider your application if the UK institution you have chosen
has accepted you. We will give priority to applicants with disabilities
if they fulfill all other requirements. You will need to be able to
cover all additional costs not covered by the scholarship.

Institute
of International Education
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, associated with the U.S.
Fulbright Scholarship, brings accomplished professionals from designated
countries of Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle
East, Europe and Eurasia to the United States at a midpoint in their
careers for a year of study and related professional experiences. The
Program provides a basis for establishing long-lasting productive partnerships
and relationships between citizens of the United States and their professional
counterparts in other countries, fostering an exchange of knowledge
and mutual understanding throughout the world.
Description of Program
The flagship exchange program of the State Department’s Bureau
of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Fulbright Scholar Program provides
grants for Scholars and Professionals to lecture and/or conduct research
in hosting institutions.

Scholarship
The Non-U.S. Student Program is designed to give master’s and
doctoral candidates, and developing professionals and artists opportunities
for international experience, personal enrichment and an open exchange
of ideas with citizens of other nations.
Future
Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX)
Provides scholarships for high school students. Each scholarship recipient
lives with a U.S. host family for one academic year and studies in a
U.S. high school. Alumni teach seminars on resume and proposal writing,
hold games contests and debate tournaments, provide computer skills
training, and organize a number of American cultural and English language
programs.
The Government of United States of America is pleased to announce the
open competition for the Future leaders’ Exchange Program for
the 2004-05 academic year. The FLEX program is managed and fully funded
by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States
Department of State (ECA). It is administered by the American Councils
for International Education: ACTR \ACCELS.
The FLEX program offers students an opportunity not only to learn
about the people and culture of the US, but also teach Americans about
the people and culture of Eurasian countries. FLEX students experience
personal growth and independence, and become better prepared for an
increasingly interdependent world. They form strong ties with host families
that often last a lifetime.
The
Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program (Muskie)
Provides Master's degree-level study in the U.S. in a range of fields.
Fellows enroll in graduate degree, certificate, and non-degree programs,
which last one to two academic years, and may also participate in an
eight- to twelve-week internship during the summer following the first
academic year.
Junior
Faculty Development Program
This is an eleven-month training program that provides faculty with
the opportunity to pursue a non-degree professional development program
at an institution of higher education in the U.S. Through the JFDP,
participants work closely with U.S. colleagues to develop their knowledge
of new teaching methodologies and to create new curricula that further
the development of higher education and scholarship in Armenia.
Eurasian
Undergraduate Exchange Program (UGRAD)
Offers competitive scholarships for one academic study year in the U.S.
to undergraduate students from the NIS in a number of fields. Students
study agriculture, business administration, communications/journalism,
computer science, criminal justice, economics, education, environmental
management, government, library and information sciences, public policy,
or sociology.
IREX
The Eurasian Undergraduate Exchange Program (formerly the FSA Undergraduate
Program) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs
of the US Department of State and administered by IREX (International
Research & Exchanges Board). The program provides opportunities
for first-, second- and third-year undergraduate students from Armenia,
as well as other former soviet republics for non-degree study in the
United States for one academic year.
Established by the US Congress in 1992, the program is designed to
foster democratization and economic development in Eurasia through intensive
one-year academic programs for undergraduate students.

IREX also regularly offers lectures about the educational system of
the US, financial aid advice, conducting university interviews, writing
personal statements, and other processes concerning the American university
application process. They also offer individual consultations with university
applicants and practice for GRE, GMAT, TOEFLE, and other admission exams.
